review 1: Read this book for a book club. I had to laugh out loud many times while reading it, which pretty much guarantees at least 4 stars for me.I've already made some of the changes that she made and others I've tried in my life. Not because of the book, but because I've been trying for years to be more environmentally-minded. Some of the changes I've never heard of and would never have thought of and others I wouldn't do if you paid me. It must have been a huge challenge to come up with 366 changes. Speaking of 366, it really cracked me up that she discovered toward the end that she had decided to do this in a leap year! LOL!I took some inspiration from this in that I decided on my 49th birthday, about a week ago, to make one change per day in my life during my last year before... more the half century mark. My changes aren't necessarily green, but some are. My changes are intended to improve my life in various ways, but I never would have thought of a change a day until I read her book.Interesting side note, the book is made sustainably from recycled materials, but mine is already falling apart! The glue gave out after one reading and the pages are trying to come out. But I plan to pass it along through Freecycle anyway.
review 2: I realize that your liking of a book has sometime more to do with your expectations then with the quality of the book itself. This book was not what I expected. I thought I would find ideas, recommendation, hints on how to lead a greener life. It was more of a diary. Although the author lists all the change she does for a given month she often don't even address the change in question but just relates about her life and the process. It can be frustrating when you fail to understand how a specific change is good for the environment or how hard it is to implement. But the book is well written and fun to read. less
