review 1: Another great addition to the series and to think I almost missed it. I didn't realize that Mr. Banis had switched the series to Dreamspinner Press and didn't catch that the book was in the Deadly Mystery series until I'd read the first few pages. The book is fast moving, the story well plotted and the characters well developed. I loved the setting at the gay resort and Frederick and the use of the Green Mojave snake as a means of killing. There's also plenty of funny moments and danger. Tom and Stanley are two great of my favorite characters and still make a nice couple and this book was one of the best mysteries I've read in a while. Enjoy.
review 2: The 6th book of the Deadly series, opens with Chris Rafferty (Tom and Stanley's friend) stumbles into a cold bo
... moredy on his bed, while he is staying at Winter Beach Inn, the gay inn, in Palm Springs. He quickly calls Tom and Stanley, so then the couple leaves to Palm Springs, in order to comfort Chris, while at the same time, trying to get around to gives a little extra help for the Palm Springs PD. Soon, bodies are piling up, secrets about the guests at the inn come to the surface ...Mystery wise, I have a feeling of the murderer after several clues. But it is still enjoyable to read the detectives working the case. The part about knowledge of samurai is interesting. And the ending, WOW, Tom shows how he kicks ass ... he is like a warrior, charging ahead to save his lover, and my GOD, he is amazing!!Apart from that, I also enjoy it simply for Tom and Stanley as a couple. This case happens in a gay inn, and there are few who try to get Tom's interest while he never understands why. Tom and Stanley are one of the most intriguing couple I've read in series. I cannot deny that Tom is straight and he never has any interest in any men ... except fo Stanley. He loves Stanley and he will do anything to protect him. It's probably an example of the saying that you cannot choose who you love.I cannot say that Tom and Stanley are in the strongest time of their lives ... especially not after book #5 (where Stanley has that moment of doubt). But at the same time, I think they're getting to that point where (borrowing Stanley's own words), Tom is Tom, Stanley is Stanley, but at the same time, they're also TomStanley because they're together.I definitely keep this series as one that I will religiously follow. So if there is a next book, I'm definitely in less
