review 1: Mathilda is lost in a world of grief, her sister has just tragically died when hit by a train, her mother and father ignore her and are too wrapped up in their own misery to see how Mathilda is suffering. They think someone pushed Helene in front of the train but is that the truth?Mathilda is on a journey of self discovery, trying to make sense out of everything that has happened and also at the same time try too unravel the secret life of Helene because the more she delves into her secrets the more Mathilda finds out that no one really knew the person who was Helene.Thought provoking, dark and deep this book is aimed at both teenage and also adult audiences at the themes it uses resonates with us all, love, loss, hidden secrets and grief.Definitely worth reading as you can... morenot put it down.
review 2: Spontaneous, upside down, inside out teenage sensitivity along with the vulnerability and brave craziness. Strange detours make us believe that the puzzle will never be finished. But it does... bit abruptly... but the picture is ready. And we can see it with an unarmed eye of the cynical adult's vision. We can think, see and feel like 13 year old. We forgot how to do it. But Victor Lodato makes us to refresh our micro-scheme with the old memories of our own youth. This story belongs to one person, yet it belongs to everybody. And we don't even know if it truthful. less

Good one! Very quirky yet kind of dark. Great analogies can be found throughout.
