review 1: This was a very powerful book. While I had a basic understanding of the events around Kennedy's assassination, I had little information on the details. That is no longer the case. I felt that Bugliosi was detailed and precise without losing any of the emotion and poignancy of the times. I loved the way the book was structured with the multiple narrative threads following the timeline. This is the way that history should be written so that people can grasp not just what happened, but how it affected those living it.
review 2: Extraordinary book based on massive, thorough research. Guess what? LHO assasinated JFK. Its an open and shut case, beyond a reasonable doubt. The evidence is overwhelming. A few conspiracy buffs have twisted things abound or just made stuf
... moref up. People have a hard time believing one left wing nut job killed the President, but that's what happened. It wasn't the CIA, or LBJ, or the Maffia. No conspiracy. Why do we Americans fall for the conspiracy theory every time. Having read the book, I now feel more than a little silly for having believed a lot of that non sense for so long. I guess books based on just the facts without the hype or sensationalism are just not as exciting. less

I learned a lot about an event I thought I knew quite well. Makes it all the more tragic!
