review 1: I just could not get into these stories. It seemed that every time one was getting interesting, it ended. The writing was good, with interesting details and some nice imagery, but when they all seem to go nowhere, that takes all the enjoyment out of the book. Also, the synopsis was kinda misleading. It gave you one line descriptions of the stories that made you think that's what the stories were about, but they were actually throwaway lines within the stories.
review 2: Tower is a good writer, but it's a bit too "well written" for my taste. Too many creative verbs and telling details without really grabbing me. I think I've read too many short stories at this point in my life, and I want something that interests me personally, and this was off in the wrong
... moredirection for me. My favorite was the first half of "Wild America," before the boys showed up. Although this didn't wow me, I finished it and would definitely read more by Wells Tower. less

Very well-written, intriguing premises and characters, but no endings or plot, which is frustrating.

Nice short stories. Quirky but funny. A good length for bedtime.
