review 1: Truly a unique historical account. I have to admit that the weather chapters were a little dry to wade through at times, but reading about how the weather affected the politicians and artists and common people of the day was fascinating. Knowing that the eruption of a volcano across the world had such a major impact on the work and developments of that year and beyond is one well worth discovering and thinking about in this unique history.
