review 1: This books deals with feeling rejected or unwanted for something about you that you can't help. I think most children will deal with feeling this way at sometime in their childhood and I'm glad that the issue is addressed in a cute way that will appeal to children, but the book is rather short and I don't think the issue was dealt with well or thoroughly. By the end of the book his friends want him back because they couldn't sleep without him, that leaves me feeling like his friends are using him in a way and that the main character only feels better because he is no longer rejected--he should feel better about himself as a whole. But this book could definitely spark some classroom discussion if read to a class.

... moreouple of reasons why I gave this book 4 stars.a. I'm imagining a room full of 3-6 year olds chanting "stop snoring, Bernard!" Funny. It'll be even funnier if I have them all make the sound of Bernard snoring.b. The otters are SO CUTE! The story is simple and not new or exciting, but the fact that it it BEGGING me to read it at storytime gives it that extra oomph to bump it up a star level. less

So funny! And the illustrations are simple enough to be used with toddlers up through kindergarten.

Almost exactly like Z-Z-Zoink (but less funny in my opinion)! Fun illustrations, though!

Great read aloud, fun to get kids to do the snoring noises.

I like the art more than the story.
