review 1: This is by far the most humorous children book I have ever purchased. I don't think you can really call this a child's book. A warning for all parents: THIS IS NOT, I REPEAT... NOT A CHILDREN'S BOOK to share with kids of reading age (hence the title.) With that being said, I purchased this book for my pure enjoyment. I have also purchased this book for 3 of my friends with kids and they have never laughed so much. The book although written in a 4-line poetic stance per page and with child appropriate illustrations, only 2 lines from each page can be read out loud to a child who CAN NOT read. The other 2 lines are reserved for adults (emphasis on adults). This book is definitively not appropriate for a child who is able to read. However, if you plan on reading to baby or a ... morechild who CAN NOT read, remember only 2 lines from each page can be read out loud. Although not a typical child's book, still thoroughly enjoyable: the child will like the portion read, the pictures, and you as the adult will get a kick out of what comes next (at least I did.)
review 2: It was when my oldest daughter was a baby that this first went viral. The crassness of the title (and ever other line in the book) captures the frustration of parents struggling to get their kids to sleep so that they can do other sutff (like watch a movie, or talk). I found it amusing, even if it wasn't particularly nice. I noticed when bookstores started carrying the physical book but paid little interest. I did however scoop up the free audiobook from Audible.com when I saw that it was read by Samuel Jackson (the quintessential bad Mother F_____). It was amusing. I listened to it once but then turned it off and deleted it from my Kindle so that my kids will never hear it. Don't want the kids learning the F bomb from me or my audio books. less
