review 1: I enjoyed this one, the pace was great. But I'm not sure I really understood the ending. I mean, if the whole point of the "murders" was to get rid of the 36 good people, isn't him committing an act of evil letting the "bad guys" win? If the higher power was really supposed to be removing the good people to let way for the new generation of good people (as suggested by baby born at same moment Nils was supposed to die), why would it want those good people to commit evil acts to save themselves? Hmm.
review 2: The concept from the Talmud regarding the 36 righteous men in each generation sparked my interest to read this book. Unfortunately,if the author had a better understanding of the Talmud's writings, the story line and ending would have gone a different
... moreway. To make the readers think to do or be evil is the way to salvation is so false. God calls us to holiness, righteous and if we are faithful to Him and and seek His will and understanding of it, we would strive for that righteousness and would be blessed for it. Taking the road towards evil is not what the Talmudic teachings were teaching. Hopefully in time, this author will finally understand that for themselves. less

Leuk om te lezen, lekker spannend. Doet alsof het diepgang heeft maar dat valt wel mee.

Typical thriller book. Nothing really special about it. Nice to read though.
