review 1: Once again A.L. Jackson delivers a passionate and compelling story. I never get tired of reading her stories. I would like to understand what the significance is in leaving for 6 years? This will be the 3rd story in which the character left home and returned 6 years later. Of course children are involved in the damaged life styles of the lovers. That's probably my only negative about thus story, is the dad missing out on the first six years of his sons life. I'm glad and shocked Troy never hit his son, even though I think he knew it was not his. It's terrible to think that some people can't let other be happy and would rather they suffer along with them. Troy should have gotten help and maybe Maggie should have been the one to save him, instead of him destroying her and... more him.
review 2: I love AL Jackson as a writer and a person and I seriously want to kick my own arse for not reading this book sooner! She has the most amazing way with words. She just doesn't tell a story, she makes you feel it, breathe it, smell it, live it. William has been living as a ghost of himself for the last 6 years. Having nightmares and living a life that he never wanted. He is called back home for an emergency and doesn't wan to run unto his past; the woman that broke his heart and crushed his soul six years ago. When Maggie sees William again she is brought back in time. She can no longer hide her feelings for him and she is torn on what to do next. Can William and Maggie find a way back to each other? Can they escape the horrors that are chasing them and find love in each other's arms again? Another amazing read from AL Jackson told in dual POV with heart wrenching flashbacks and emotional memories. The close-mouthed kiss felt both innocent and obscene, something stolen, forbidden. It was the single most intimate moment I'd ever shared with anyone. We lingered, breathing into each other, our hands shaking and pulses thundering. less
