review 1: A wonderfully refreshing and original read after so many recent teenage books recycling story lines. Right from the first page I have been engrossed in Brimstone. It took me a small matter of hours to finish it as I literally couldn't put it down! I felt that every character was well described, and that I knew each personally. The action scenes are written in a way which means that I could imagine what was going on very vividly. The book is captivating and well written, a true page turner. I felt like the book should have gone on well after it finished - guess I'll be buying the sequel!
review 2: Even though this is classed as a fantasy book, there is no magic involved. Despite that, I found this to be an enjoyable and very quick read (one day). Recommended for... more those of you who just want to read a quick book, with likeable characters, a fast paced story line with not much lovey-dovey stuff. Well, there is a little bit of teenage girl angst, but what doesn't seem to have that these days? But there wasn't a lot of it to make me go bleugh. less
