review 1: 3.5 Stars I'm a bit disappointed cause more than 1/2 the book was great. But I have too many questions, too many loose ends and a no ending - ending just isn't right. This is SUPPOSE to be a stand alone so wrap up the story!! I'm a HUGE fan of Consequences so when Aleatha Romig released a new thriller , to say I was excited is an understatement. Consequences was so clever, so precise in it's story telling but this? This was too open ended. I think it could have been a great series but it's a stand alone so I'm soooo disappointed. I mean since when is there a cliffie in stand alones??The story started so good with Victoria and Stewart and the contracts and his kinky fetishes. I was like yes, another twisted thriller by Ms Romig. I found myself liking the bad guy and... more not liking the good guy....classic Romig style (like not everything appears as it is) I love that about her. She's not a surface writing author, she makes you think and question your own instincts. But as the story unfolded it was liked she realized .....oh shit I better wrap this up. So I had to jump to too many conclusions. I still have a shlew of questions and seriously WTF is up with that ending and not everything was addressed or resolved that was discovered in this book. So as I said if it was a series I would be loving it.....thinking and wondering where the story is gonna end up. But instead I have to make my own inferences and conclusions ....well uhm if I wanted that I'd write my own book, I want a complete story with everything addressed and answered and a real fucking ending!!! So 3.5 disappointing it could have been great but fell short stars!!
review 2: Loved this book. It brought out so many emotions with the way the story played out and the plot twisted. One minute I could understand the hate toward Stewart but then I found myself feeling sorry for him. It is written to be a stand-alone but the ending had me screaming, NO! It leaves you having to decide if it was her or him. Was it an accident or intentional? And if it was intentional, why, why, why? It's been a week since I finished the book and I'm still debating what I think happened. less
