review 1: I did not like this all. From the first book I felt like quitting, but I was hoping the story came together later on. It didn't. I know the series has many positive reviews, so I feel bad giving a low score. I probably didn't like it because I was expecting an updated Pretty Woman version... Anyways, it wasn't contemporary romance which was what thought it would be and it wasn't realistic to me. Also, I felt like many things were not answered. For instance, what happened with Drew?
review 2: I've spent a few hours to decide how I'm going to go ahead with this review ,it's not that I was completely baffled by this particular story that I just read , but rather you could say the limits that one doesn't realise exist for example one doesn't need to put on a show j... moreust because one is a entertainer.On that note I begin , our story begins with candance a stripper and you think great so basically a slut ,so very wrong again because she strips doesn't mean she sells sex ,that would make her a prostitute. Candance didn't want to be a stripper ,she had a degree but like many problems didn't have a job that would accompany it. I'm not going to tell you what her degree was in just that it's really hard to get a job in that field without a reference. so as she continues her with her life (which she reckons that's it not something she's proud of but it pays the bills and cares for her ailing father she comes to term with it) basically she's going about her day when she meets that ONE CLIENT that pays a whooping arse load , get's what he wants and is out the door and ladies I introduce to you Nathan Dumont. (she doesn't get a name until end of book one) but we'll talk about him later ,so our candance is curious about him like every other girl ,she gives him what he wants until one day he tells her manager that he's gonna take her to his place.She does refuse but in the end doesn't get a say ,but let me tell you one thing candance stole my HEART, I've rarely had a female heroine that I like but I'd put my heart for that girl .She defined a girl with a golden heart, yes there were times where I was like you bloody idiot but while reading the series my respect for her grew by a mile.It sounds delirious but that women was one of the strongest characters I've read and no she wasn't strong like smart mouth or badass but that women was a gem. She realised that she'd be used ,did she come to terms with it no she didn't but did she play the part sometimes yes she did.i know what you're thinking well that's not a strong women at all but oh god you're so wrong ,some of us women either fight back and we lose a lot on the way (which does take a strong heart ) and some of us wait silently (some how we feel responsible) which in my perspective is wrong yes fight back but not to an extent that you loose yourself. Candance here is headstrong but she knows she's at a disadvantage because she been constantly reminded that she's a stripper again and again. Further on Nathan presents her with an offer the same night he takes her to his place ,be my wife but with terms and conditions applied, no not a bdsm contract but a genuine marry me for the sake of it contract, candance is extremely wary and mostly likely decides that she's not that desperate, but like I said that she's consently reminded that's she a stripper and doesn't have a life, she's confused but when the contract states that her father would be taken care off her daughterly institution kicks in and she's bounded.Now to Nathan what a douchebag and I don't mean that in a fun way he's not a smart mouth or charming but a complete pig ,my hate for him stayed till the very end , Nathan is a billionaire playboy etc, you get the picture .He's also accompanied by two more people Drew and Mark ,something like his left and right hand men ,I'll just say this there is a love triangle in this, I personally don't like love triangles but hey its in this. SO things move on Nathan uses candy for sex and HE DOES IT INFRONT OF PEOPLE! just because she's a stripper she should be used to it.what a arse hole I'd punch him in the balls, it's a piss poor excuse to degrade a person.As time goes on candy gets a new closet, makeover ,and name that's right name . (I'm not gonna tell the name) apparently candance isn't a name for a high society spouse (I think every name is perfect) and her job is to put on a smile for the cameras and be there for Nathan if he calls, did I mention she sleeps in the guest room and gets summoned when she's suppose to uck it's just not fair.So things escalate and she's at point where she realises she's a pawn for something big( Nathan finally talks to her and tells her why he was being cold ) and honesty my heart broke when I found out the reason it's like a grenade to the heart another reason why I hated Nathan. Things continue and candy plays along with a stone on her heavy heart ,let's say near the ending things pan out the way they should be and our little lady is left heart broken again being a strong women she doesn't peep a word and accepts her part in the entire game and when the time comes she leaves.there's a point where she's visits her father (she never told him she was a stripper) where she holds onto her life in seams, time passes and let's say you get a glimpse of HEA that we all love in the end. my only regret is 1) I wanted more from Nathan sure he said a few sweet things but that doesn't cover his douchebag behaviour 2) candance needed to Put her foot down 3) Nathan needs to seriously learn to move on and express his feeling more and finally 4) I feel they're should have been at least another book or like a small novella or something, I feel there's a lot more to this story it needs to have a proper ending not that it doesn't have one but I expect a little closure. In the end it was a fantastic book and I'm glad I read it, it did give me mix emotions but it taught me a lot too . thank you less
