review 1: ⭐⭐⭐I only gave 3-stars for the ratings because there are parts of the novel that bored me. I almost DNF this book. There are funny parts, yes, but I didn't felt any excitement with their relationship not until the end part where they are bound to part because of Grace's career. They will keep a long-distance relationship but how will they keep it up? I'm kind of curious about the next part now that Michael, Grace's old flame, came into the picture. I'm gonna read it but not next, maybe sometime in future.Don't get me wrong but I love Alice Clayton. I love her because Wallbanger and Rusty Nailed. That's my favorite humor-romantic novels. But this one, The Unidentified Redhead, not really got me hooked.
review 2: Boy am i glad i read wall banger first becau
... morese if i had started on this one i would've probably never known what this author was capable of!Heroine: i dont really know how to feel about her. she was fun and quirky but she wasnt very...real to me. Like her life is all cotton candy and sunshine and nothing overly bad has ever happened to her (and the one time it did she never actually addressed it she just buried it until it HAD to be dealt with). I felt like for a 33 y/o she was incredibly immature and not in a charming way some of the time. I liked her well enough but i needed a hook to really hang that on. Maybe if there had been more details about her past i couldve gotten more into her but as it stands the best thing about her was being funny...and there were a fair amount of times i was laughing at her not with her.Hero: he was ok but didnt really stand out. hes sweet enough but doesnt have that bit of alpha streak that keeps a guy from being a total doormat. i like that he sticks up for the heroine and he stands by his feelings for her no matter what but that was his main selling point for me. At times i felt he was more mature than his nine years older counterpart but then there were times he reminded me of a frat boy. overall ehhhhRomance: the two were great together if for no other reason than no one else would put up with their immature asses. the inside jokes they started were funny at first but there got to be so many it was hard for me as a reader to keep up with them all. Sex: these hot scenes gave the book a whole extra star i think. *fans self* this is the one part that clicked the best for me (despite what i'll mention down in the writing section).Plot: nothing terribly special (and really giving her a part in a musical that is basically her life? overkill) and it didnt really go anywhere surprising. overall there was no action or drama really in this. there was a little of oh he's to young for me and even less of we're gonna be on opposite sides of the country what are we realistically gonna do (they barely discuss this at all). one of the most lackluster parts for me.Writing: ok overall though i didnt notice any spelling issues other reviewers commented on it so maybe in my skimming i just missed it. here's me biggest issue with the writing in this one-holy CRAP the annoying repetition. I mean in wallbanger she does it but by then she learned how to refine it so it was on the side of interesting/funny rather than the annoying side which this one ended up on. "blah blah-hard. blah blah blah-hard etc etc" i mean literally i counted 7 hards in like 2 pages thats just ridiculous! Bottom line: this book made me giggle but it was as funny or well written as her book wallbanger nor did i get attached to these characters as much as i did those. probably wont keep reading this series...but i will keep reading this author since its clear to me shes taken criticisms to heart and improved on her writing which i really love to see in an author less
