review 1: While fairly well-written, I did not find Catherine a sympathetic character at all, and was irritated by being in her head. I was frequently appalled by both the stupidity and the immorality of her actions. Apparently, this is a fairly accurate depiction of her character, but that doesn't do much to redeem the reading experience. As much as I enjoy reading about Tudor England, I'd rather be in the head of a different one of Henry's ill-fated brides.
review 2: Ok, so I gave this a three because I thought this was well written and really gave a lot of information about the characters in an interesting way. But I really don't enjoy reading about this crazy time period! The things people would do to their own family members, especially their daughters, is crazy t... moreo me. But I learned more about the fifth wife of Henry the Eighth that I would probably not know otherwise, except that it ended badly, just like her cousin. less
