review 1: Experience builds character. In Allison Hawn’s original memoir, Life is a Circus Run by a Platypus, positive perspectives on her experiences teach her readers valuable life lessons. Mundane jobs like working at Subway or managing events at a conference center even have relevance when perceived through Hawn’s humanist eyes. She sees people for their contributions in light of their failures and shares the whimsical tales with colorful humor.I enjoyed getting to know Ms. Hawn through her memoir. I like her and appreciate her wit. I highly recommend reading a few tales with friends during book club and sharing fun times with each other. I look forward to reading her next installment. What weapons will she learn to shoot next?

Anyway, Hawn's collection of prose pieces are, she claims, rooted in her own, real experiences. If that's true, not only has she already lived an unusually-rich existence for such a young person, but she's clearly been taking notes along the way.Whether they're all true or not, Hawn's stories are entertainingly madcap, each in its own way. Taken together, they create an experience that can, I think, fairly be called "rollicking."Treat yourself. Visit Allison Hawn's Circus.
