review 1: There were a lot of editing issues in this book. Mostly spelling errors, but some continuity issues as well. I was surprised, since I read Parr's first book, Rush Me, and don't remember seeing them. That aside, this was a fairly enjoyable read. Natalie and Mike were both fixed on their careers and neither was looking for love. They developed a friendship that seemed genuine and included a lot of heavy sharing and emotional support, which made the relatively short timeline of the romance work. In the beginning Natalie's assertion that love was a myth rang true considering her upbringing. It started to sound hollow the longer the more their relationship developed, considering the amount of time they spent together and how committed they both were to one another. Both were da... moremaged, which really worked in the context of the story. Their upbringing shaped them both and their family dynamics were interesting. What was missing was the football. Since this story takes place in Ireland during the off season, there were no games and little from the other players. One of the things I enjoyed most about Rush Me was the football backdrop. It was definitely missed here.
review 2: It wasn't as much angsty and intense as Rush Me. It didn't get me nervous ticks or I didn't bite my nails off that kind of intense I was when I read Rush Me. No, this one, I don't know, I saw it more kinda mature-ish and Natalie and Mike's love was so simple in that sort of they-knew-they-wanted-each-other kind of way and they were together, just like that. Like they suddenly kissed and they suddenly slept together, but I didn't say it was weird or fast because their love was simple and great. Of course there's the big problem and there's that but otherwise they felt natural YES NATURAL THAT WAS THE WORD. Their love was as natural as breathing.I loved seeing the Leopards team anytime so when they came up, I nearly shouted and passed out. There wasn't a lot but that trip to Paris was a plus! My favorite was Mike's sisters and that scene when they were all with Natalie buying dresses online and Mike just comes up and sees all his family together and runs off. Nervous Mike is always fabulous. The epilogue was actually not expeceted for me. I didn't expect 8 YEARS LATER kind of epilogue so I'm freaking out a bit... a bit. It wasn't much, but it made me happy we could see a bit in the future. I'm so excited to read the third one! less

It was good for a clean book. I'm not sure why it's on a best alpha of all time list.
