review 1: I don't know what it is about this series, but I love it. After I read "The Restorer," I couldn't think of anything else. So I picked up "The Abandoned" and it was just as good as "The Restorer." You don't even need to read the pre-quel first. In fact, I found it more interesting to read it after I read the first book because you find out a lot of things. The writing is just beautiful, it draws me in like a siren's song. I loved it, and I can't wait to see what happens next.

However, it was an entertaining read & the author skillfully portrays the mood and the world her characters inhabit. The pace of development of the relationship between the main characters is credible but I did struggle with the 'bad guy'. He is a bit of a cliche & his motivations aren't really clear to me - is he just supposed to be randomly evil and sadistic? Why? I think this would have been a great full length book. less

Short story. I'm not sure it was necessary to The Graveyard Series but it was a fun little read.
