review 1: This one is a corker! I was quite impressed with it and was disappointed there wasn't another Amber West that I could immediately buy to make up for having gotten Ruth Valley Missing for free. Sorry Amber, but I'm now an enthusiastic fan and you are definitely on my Authors To Preorder List. The cast of characters is interesting and, though in many cases amusingly quirky, ring true. The protagonist, James, is a delight as is the writing. The plot is convoluted and full of interestingly nefarious skullduggery. Definitely a winner. Ruth Valley Missing needs to be the first of a series.

... moreey. It turns out Ruth Valley is not so simple. The town is in thrall to the nuns at local church. Immediately she is strongly encouraged to behave as the rest of the town does. There seems to be a lot of people who have gone unaccountably missing, especially men. What happens kept me engaged from beginning to end. less
