review 1: This one was a little odd. Starts out looking like a pretty standard contemporary. Deck is a closeted gay man in the middle of qualifying as a Navy SEAL. Mason is an artist in need of a model for a commission. And then half way in it takes a sharp left turn into the paranormal.I enjoy a good paranormal romance, but I want to know that's what it is from the start. The paranormal element didn't really add anything to the story, and I wish it had been left as a standard contemporary romance.
review 2: This wasn’t quite what I was expecting. I always seem to enjoy books where one of the MCs is a military man, so the blurb caught my eye and there was some good chemistry between Deck and Mason. However, the story didn’t flow smoothly (which may have been a... more symptom of its short length), and the whole paranormal implication completely threw me for a loop (probably detracting more than adding to the story). A little bit quirky may be the best way to summarize this one for me. less
