review 2: When I saw this book, it looked like it could be a fun read and I figured since I loved The Potluck Catering Club series that this would be fun and it was g
... morereat , in fact it surprised me as I ended up really enjoying it and in for a surprise as one by looking at the cover and reading the blurb would never dream that this book goes much deeper than your usual Chick Lit novel and in ways the emotion intensity reminded me of Jane Green's latest book "A Patchwork Marriage".What starts off as a favour to her boyfriend and best friend Joe by stepping into the shoes of a contestant for a new TV Show "The Saturday Supper Club" will turn into an emotional ride and a journey of discovery - good and bad for main female character Eve. Three years ago Eve was head over heels in love with Ethan , all was going great or so she thought when one morning he disappeared off the face of the earth leaving behind only a cryptic note. Heartbroken and distraught, Eve's life collapsed and she fell into the arms of her best childhood friend Joe. Now on the night of her turn at hosting this week's episode of The Saturday Supper Club, who should turn up as one of the other contestants - her ex Ethan Miller. Now with Ethan back in her life , she is determined to discover why he left and the real reason behind his sudden departure , but soon Eve will discover that digging into the past can be messy and gaining closure and answers may bring consequences of fallen out friends and feelings of betrayal from family members.Has destiny given Eve another chance at happiness with Ethan - her soul mate or will she realise that Joe is supposed to be "the one" ?The Saturday Supper Club will hold you on an upward roller-coaster ride as each page gets more intense than the previous and the last few chapters will have you feeling emotions of sadness, betrayal, happiness and anger.A well written novel and now I am interested to read Amy Bratley's debut novel "The Girls Guide to Homemaking". less
