review 1: I am sure what to rate this book, a 2 or 3? So i am not going to rate it right now.With that being said, I want to state the book wasn't a bad book, but it just didn't have anything going on. The writing I enjoyed and it helped the story flow and helped me stay with the book until the end...but a big chunk of the book just had nothing going on.The beginning was good and I really like the premise of the story, and the end was good because stuff started to actually happen, but that was about it.As I was reading the rest of it I kept wondering if something was going to happen anytime soon.Sure, there was something that would happen with one of the main characters but to me the story didn't stay on it too long during the episodes.The other thing I wish was different was that t... morehe story took place in Ireland in the late 1800's but you wouldn't know it when reading the story.The language too me was like modern day language and there wasn't much detail about the culture or land.
review 2: I DNF'd it.I won't do a star rating because I barely made it to 20 pages, but I just didn't want to read anymore.It had a great writing style...But....Its like okay, the prologue grabbed me.... kind of... it started at the endish and then kind of tells us that these two main characters were destined to love each other but the female angel messed it up by falling for some guy on earth.ok....The male-love-interest-angel is so mad with the protagonist and being an asshole.And the protagonist is like... yes yes I deserve it... I hurt hi...And then the-male-love-interest-angel is like... I can't give up on you...And the protagonist is like.... he should give up on me... I can't help that I love (guy we don't know yet)...And then..........................................................oh wait... sorry I just fell asleep.Ok.Clears throat)Then the chapters starts at the beginning-ish... but I already hate the freaking characters so I'm struggling. I mean for me the guy was whiny. The protagonist was annoying.So those are all the bad things from my little 20 page read.What are the good things?The writer can freaking write! Great capture of narrative voice. Great development of characters... (I mean if I want to stab a character in its neck then the character is developed enough to the point that he incites an emotion in me.)Would I read another book by this author?Sure. Love the way she writes.However, this book is just not my book.Maybe you should give it a try. less
