review 1: I only found out about this book after I finished Until I Die. And when I read the description, I was fangirling so bad. . . I loved Jules from pretty much the moment we actually got to see him as 'Jules' and not 'Thomas' or 'Vincent's friend'. I only wish that this was a bit longer. . .and we got to learn a bit more about him. And now I'm gonna go back and skim through Die For Me and Until I Die just to see what Kate was thinking during these moments. Does anyone think that maybe, with Vincent *gulps* dead (is it dead if your spirit is wandering around? Is he even dead?) Kate's gonna find out about Jules' feelings and. . .do something?
review 2: To me Jules has always been way more interesting than he is portrayed in this novella. The whole book read like a r... moreecap of the first two books with little, "I can't have her. I need to stop thinking about her...." moments thrown in from Jules. It would have been a lot more interesting to me if there had been a new event in the book that I hadn't already read about. I didn't learn anything new about Jules, didn't see any new moment/event. The novella flies through two whole books, skimming events we already read about just throwing in Jules two cents and portraying his growing obsession with Kate. I wish the author had just focused, in depth, on one or two events instead of covering the entire first two books. Better yet, create a new scene. I love Jules' character and would have liked to read a scene/event that was all about him. Even if Kate and Vincent were still in the scene and Jules' unrequited and secret love for her was forefront. Whatever, that is not what I got. This fell totally flat. I gave it two stars instead of one because I just love Jules. less
