review 1: This is the perfect story to read in the late Fall, when the world turns grey and dark and one gets to feeling introspective. The protagonist has a fantastically strong voice that draws you right in from the start. She's cynical, frank, and sometimes crude-- so if you’re tired of prissy, too-perfect heroines, Bianca’s your gal. She's a great contrast with Daniel, the nice-guy aspiring priest who just wants to help her. He’s adorable, and I loved the dynamic between these two. Also, the well-developed college setting made me fondly nostalgic for my dorm years. Ahh, Nerf guns.Character-driven more than plot-driven, I couldn’t put this book down— I really wanted to keep reading to see what would happen to Bianca, and how her secrets would inevitably unravel before D... moreaniel. The ghost story motif throughout the novel makes for a gradual, powerful way to reveal the truth about Bianca’s past. This is a thoroughly absorbing journey through grief and healing.
review 2: Ok this wasn't my typical book to read, at first i thought it was a paranormal, all the talk about ghost stories, but i stuck with it and soon just had to keep going, typical college girl drinks and has lots of random sex to deal with her past issues and then she meets Daniel, who is studing to be a priest.. a friendship starts and it goes from there.. don't want to give to much away but a great book of learning to deal with your past and letting go and wanting something more. less
