review 1: Read by the author, and lending an authenticity to the book. It was interesting, not always enjoyable. I felt like I was hearing his story over a sandwich and beer, in shorts and a tank top during the summer when we all say things we didn't set out to say. It was violent and comforting at the same time. I'd recommend it for those that are not complete chickenshits. Finishing this memoir made me feel stronger somehow. Stomaching his life was quite the feat.

I appreciated the author's - sometimes brutal - honesty in this memoir. I rate it 3.5 stars.

Interesting but slow at times. A bit of a tough read but worth the journey.
