review 1: I give this one 4.5 stars!This was my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it. It is a historical romance with suspense, intrigue, magic and more.I enjoyed watching Kaireen fight fate while Bram tried hard to keep his word to both her mother and father. Kaireen is an independent woman who doesn't want to marry, but wants to have her own life.Bram is a foreigner who falls for her hard. They have trials that they face together and apart. It was wonderful watching these two beat the odds.I hope there is a second book as I really enjoyed the secondary characters and would love to read about them as well.

This story was no different and I loved reading Kaireen and Bram’s story as Bram has to prove himself to Kaireen. Kaireen was never going to submit quietly to an arranged marriage, to a Viking of all people, and her feistiness added an extra layer of interest to the story whilst Bram’s looks and humour was enough to win me over immediately. I loved how he didn’t turn at the first obstacle and was willing to be patient. With the threat of war, there was never a dull moment as Kaireen and Bram were thrown together in life or death situations. This story is fast paced with plenty of action leaving me no choice but to keep turning the pages late into the night. I received an e-copy from the author in exchange for an honest review. less
