review 1: Whew!!! That reeled me in! I picked it up one minute and literally couldn't put it down. Almost missed my train. Anyway, what a fun ride. Take a deplorable setting, characters you don't trust enough to like, spaceships and prisoners of war and you've got this gem of a freebie by Angel Martinez. I can't say anything more because, sadly, it's too short and I might spoil the story. But it won't take you long to read it yourself!Was it perfect? No. I would have chosen a different end goal but all things considered, this is a wonderful free short story. Highly recommended.
review 2: Shit. I wasn't sure how to rate this, because it's not accurate to say "I really liked it". Torture and pain and self-pity/mental anguish and other feels-inducing things.I didn'... moret like that at all, damn it. Having feels makes me angry.There's an almost rape scene, and a brief mention of an earlier gang rape, so if you like to avoid that sort of thing consider yourself warned. There's nothing sexy or really romantic happening here, folks. It's not that sort of story. There's a hint of potential romance, that's all.It is a good story, though. And well written. less
