review 1: A staff recommendation at my local library and fond memories of this beautiful area in Italy drew me to this novel. The details of the architecture, natural beauty and food evoked wonderful images for me, but the focus on high fashion and hand wringing about love interests did little to hold my attention. The secrets and mysteries within the story were inventive, but the reaction of the characters (most one dimensional,) a bit stereotyped and dramatic.
