review 1: Bit of marshmallow fun as I get deeper into assignment time. Only tok a few hours to read, and was literally fluff to help send me to sleep and not to be thinking about budgets or acquisitions etc. I like that Millie is English and I also like that she stands up for herself every now and again. This story has a really crappy ending - you turn the page (or in my case swipe) and boom! It's the epilogue. Shame really - because I would have like to see more. If you're wondering the whole story is set out over a week at a wedding in New York as Millie gets to know her friend Kristen all over again and all the stories and drama that appear to be endemic amongst people who don't tell the truth for fear of hurting people. And an evil mother into the bargain. As I said, a nice flu... moreffy read for when your brain can't cope with more. :D
review 2: After reading 'Millie and the American University', I HAD to read it's predecessor. I have to say, the prequel made this book easier to follow. I could imagine myself flicking through the pages trying to figure out who was who if I hadn't read the prequel first. I really enjoyed this book. I couldn't put it down and ended up staying up till 7am finishing it! Oh, the perks of being a university student on Summer break. My heart went out to Millie. She was so strong throughout the book. I really enjoyed how much drama she brought to the group. It made me laugh out loud, cringe and almost had me in tears. I cannot wait for the next installment! less
