review 1: Anna Carey’s book Eve is a breath catching experience that keeps you on the edge of your seat for hours. Sometimes cliche for a post-apocalyptic love story, it’s about boy and a girl versus what’s left of the world. But, you’re able to forgive the cliche, and see that Carey has put great care into crafting a novel that has exemplary turning points, morals, and sensory details. Carey allows Eve (the main character) to look like a selfish fool the doesn’t know any better than to waltz around her dead world while falling into traps set by the government. Waiting for her to get stuck in one of those traps and fail at her dream of getting to Califia, made the book entertaining to me. But she doesn’t, and eventually makes it to another one of Carey’s well crafted t... morewists at the end. This book was almost a guilty pleasure to read. It kept me reading with the violence and constant change, but you know that it’s just a sappy love story, designed perfectly for the masses of teenage girls desperately in need of love from a sexy, dangerous man.
review 2: So I've never been into romance novels, but this one is different. Its about this girl who's only imagined her future one way, and then she realizes the future she wants was all a lie as the government was gonna use her and her classmates to repopulate the world. She escapes the day before, and treks through the wild, makes an unlikely friend and finds love. I just adored how these characters were slowly built into who they are now, showing us the readers past events before the school and younger years at the school. I can't wait to read the rest of the trilogy, a very heart warming series, recommend this to anyone who likes or doesn't like romance novels, you might change your mind. less
