review 1: 3.5 .... I almost put this book down because I could not stand Harmony's weakness. All the sniveling was driving me insane. Court was a well written duke. Controlled, pompous to a point, stern. I love reading stories where the alpha struggles with his feelings. I do not, however, enjoy reading about crybaby heroines. After her first real beating though, she impressed me with her change. It was the best thing that happened to the story and it made me start respecting her. The story was extra steamy too.
review 2: DtD is a spanking book, but probably more accurately, a domestic discipline book. I loved that Harmony was herself, full of book knowledge, not caring overly much about the English manners and society. Due to her unconventional upbringing and ways, Cour... moret dubbed her "Miss Chaos" or "Duchess of Chaos". The scrapes she got herself into were hilarious but also led to her husband needing to "correct" by spanking and flogging, unfortunately sometimes in anger. There is a lot of humor in this book, fun bantering between the two and a growing love and compromise. less
