review 1: I selfishly wish this wasn't a Young Adult novel. While the plot works perfectly with these bright, complex protagonists, the unique world Osterlund has created feels put to waste on teenagers. If only adults were the main heroes in this story, set in the same world, the political space opera that would emerge would likely blow my mind. *sigh* Still, I loved the romance within these pages, the slow build-up of friendship and self that emerged, and for the tale told, even I can't seem to find much fault. A quick, but satisfyingly strong read indeed.
review 2: Amazingly written. I was expecting a boarding school/drama/romance when I picked this book up, and found out just hoe wrong about that I was in the first chapter. A beautifully orchestrated story about sec... morerets, trust and survival. I loved the dual points of view, the incredible way the story flowed and concluded (that ending couldn't have been better), and the realistic personalities and reactions of the characters. This novel surprised me in some many good ways. Miss Osterlund has done a great job with this book, and with keeping my intense focus throughout reading it. less
