review 1: This was one of those books I just didn't want to end. It was funny, sweet, and a little bit cheesy. Once again the frat boys provide a lot of humor in them trying to implement their "gay sensitivity training" with very mix results. Totally unrealistic and stereotypical, ie dumb frat boys, but done in such a way I was snorting with laughter most of the time. There was alot going on in this book from the fire, bombing, fighting for the new frat policy, a new gay member, sex tapes, kidnapping, homophobic uncles with money, the threat of the frat losing its beer, and more. But it all fit together and flowed well not getting overwhelming and each one got taken care of and tied up by the end. Many of the numerous characters come from previous books so it was nice to see sni... moreppets of them in this book.As for Eric and Collin they were sweet together and at times hot. Exploring the more bear side of things with Eric and his hair was a change for alot of the stuff I've read in a while. There relationship was a little cheesy with all the endearments but it works well with the age gap between them and the more romantic side of Eric. I love the scene together with them and Eric supporting Collin through all the disasters that occur. Despite all the things that are going on in this book there is a fair amount of time spent on their relationship and I liked seeing them together. Even though this does have alot of insta-love elements I liked the fact Collin also held back a little so the relationship didn't seem extremely unrealistic.
review 2: 2.5 stars. I usually like when MCs use endearments, but the ones here were excessive -- and made me cringe. Sweetness, Sweet Thing, Sweet Boy, Sweet Baby -- on and on and on it went. And the worst was when Eric referred to Collin as "his boy." I'm not sure why Eric would think of Collin in those terms, considering Eric was a little sensitive about the age gap.Instalove doesn't usually bug me either, but it didn't work for me here. Within a week (days really), Collin and Eric are discussing love, throwing away the condoms, abusing endearments, meeting each other's friends and talking forever. And this is Collin's first boyfriend. This relationship needed more time to flourish. The guys never really have a serious talk about the 15-year age difference and if it will have any affect on their lives or relationship. But they did actually have conversations that didn't revolve around sex, and I appreciated that. I also liked that Eric wanted to be a househusband, and that the MCs envisioned children in their future. They were sweet with each other. The book felt overly long -- about 100 pages could have been trimmed and the story wouldn't have suffered. I had a difficult time staying interested and put down the book several times. I didn't care about the intricacies of running a frat house or who was targeting the boys. I found a few of the scenes mildly amusing (the meeting in the house after Jock's photo was emailed, for example), but mostly I was glad when it was over. less
