review 1: The writing is better than most reviewers are giving it credit for (the style anyway) but, I have to agree with most when they say the personal subplot took away from the main point. People picked this up to read a behind the scenes look into a reality show compeition not to see if the main character gets a boyfriend. It is funny and entertaining in most places and kept my attention, but if you're looking for the next Moby Dick you're out of luck.
review 2: Aspiring writer everygirl (that's supposed to be us) goes to work on American Idol with the names changed for practically nothing. Oh, and literally half the fun is figuring out who's supposed to be who/what's supposed to be what--which isn't exactly hard. In addition, I really like how the author goes out
... more of their way to avoid using actual product names (aside from Apple, strangely)--e.g. the fictitious dating site eCupidMatch as an amalgam of eHarmony, okCupid, and Match.com. All in all, it's not great literature by any stretch of the imagination, but definitely a fun and worthwhile read. less

Fun to guess how much of it may be based on truth...only for current or former American Idol fans.
Serendipity
Light and entertaining. A little ridiculous and predictable at times, but a fun light read.
mustafa
A little predictable, but a fun read
