review 1: I never realized what a creepy bastatd Heathcliff was until you put the story in a modern context. But his behavior was slightly more redemptive in this version. And Cathy a little less of a self-destructive spoiled brat. So actually a bit less of a depressing read than its inspiration (deepest apologies Emily Bronte). I enjoyed this author's modern rendition of Jane Eyre as well. Hopefully she completes the Bronte sister trifecta soon. A little Wildfell perhaps?

... more's story, Chelsea, focused more on solving a mystery--and learning vicariously through her mother's mistakes. I appreciated being able to have the romance--and eat my cake too, if that makes any sense in the middle of all my mixed metaphors. Interesting, interesting read. less

This was not what I expected. I liked it but I think it could have been a lot better.
