review 2: 1. Genre: Graphic Novel2. This is a cute story mimicking it's comic-strip roots. Jack received a toy from his parents that seems fun and cool at first but after it begins to scare him, hide and act a little crazy, he beings to think this toy wasn't everything he
... morethought it was. 3. (A) Area for comment: illustrations (B) This was a good book with illustrations that really give you an insight into Jack's world. The color schemes used give you a warm feeling when Jack like's his toy and then also depicts his feelings when he is unsure about it. The illustrations in this book truly give the book the touch it needs. (C) I found the cover of this book to be a real eye catcher. It gives great insight into the story line as well as making the reader want to see more about Jacks box.4. This book could be used in a lesson to show the artistic side of writing. The students could write out their own comic strip or make up a graphic short story all on their own. less
