review 1: A 3.5 star rating, actually. I was intrigued by the unusual plot: a teenager and her family caught up in the tangle of the Witness Protection Program. With her family falling apart around her and fed up with all the secrecy, Meg is determined to find some answers. When she decides to run, the story lost its steam for me because it was such a stupid thing to do. Still, insight into the hardships and dangers families face when in hiding was fascinating.
review 2: I read this book in one day (along with my normal eight hour work day) if that's any indication of how baller this book was. I really enjoyed it and found the writing to be really solid, the characters multi-dimensional and the story extremely engaging. I feel like the most apt description is "If Sarah... more Dessen were to write a police book." It has all the swoon-worthy and romantic moments you expect from a Sarah Dessen book while also being creepy and exciting and mysterious. I highly recommend it and I look forward to getting my hands on book two. :) less
