review 1: FIRST THOUGHTS:This reminds me of when I was younger and obsessed with boy bands (and I kind of still am). I loved the way music tied into everything, and I'm a sucker for how it all ended. While I wish I'd felt more involved in the story, it was pretty diverting.REVIEW:With some stories, drama works for me. With other stories, it just does not. In the case of The Sound of Us, I’m afraid it was the latter. This novel reminds me strongly of fan fiction (especially for boy bands, because that’s definitely something I’m familiar with), but it did wind up being a great diversion on a long train ride home.My two favorite things about The Sound of Us? The romance and the friendship! Junie’s romance with Roman is complicated, especially considering his reputation. The thi... morengs that caused problems between them were actually pretty predictable, but I was still rooting for them anyway. I also really liked Junie’s friendship with Maggie, because they were really there for each other through good and bad! Plus, Maggie is such a fun personality to read about too.Honestly, though, I just wasn’t able to connect as well as I’d have wanted to with these characters. This, in part, is probably why I didn’t enjoy The Sound of Us more! Even though it’s not a new favorite, I do have to say I still found it entertaining.
review 2: It's the fourth book in a row that I struggle to finish. I'm about to give up!! The story of the book is original and great, however I didn't like how it turned out around the middle of the book. It became a little bit too weird with the «running with naked boobs» and everything. But there are people who seems to have enjoyed this book so I guess it depends on what we're looking for in a book. Unfortunately, it didn't make it for me. less
