review 1: A breath of fresh air and the perfect book to read on a rainy day! Loved the characters, the humor throughout, the witty remarks from Shannon and the taking turns choosing scary activities to do. Loved the final confession coming after the wedding reception crashing date, where nathan was pretending they were engaged and checking out receptions for their own wedding. Then the older lady wanted them to practice kissing. So cute! Wish all dating could be this fun!
review 2: While serving refreshments at the wedding of her BFF's sister, Shannon gets her future told by a gypsy; before she turns 30, she'll meet her silk tie-wearin true love at a wedding reception. That same evening she has a tear inducing encounter with the grooms rude younger brother and vows to n
... moreever date anyone who will a) smash wedding cake in her face, or b) has been unkind to her. ever. Fast forward to her freshman year at university, and re-enter Jerkface (aka: the grooms rude younger brother, aka: Nathan). They soon become best buds, and while everyone else can see that Nathan has fallen for Shannon, she's too resolved not to cross that line and lose her boy BFF to acknowledge it. Until it's too late. Though I was occasionally annoyed that Shannon didn't just man-up (she's so brave and fearless and all that) and talk to Nathan, I really did enjoy this book. I devoured it in one afternoon and my kids kept asking what I was laughing at (which apparently lined up well with the show they were watching. lol). This happened numerous times, btw. Subtle LDS themes, but not preachy, at all. Loved: Fun & light-hearted with some inner reflection. Great, hilarious banter. Fantastic, likable main & supporting characters. Squeaky clean but still sigh-worthy. Will definitely read more by this author. less

Too long and drawn out for an inevitable and abrupt ending.
