review 1: Well, my first impression is...Thank the Heavens I've never needed the FBI for anything because if this book is a representation of their efficiency, I'd be dead by now. Seriously. I don't even have a problem with John because even though he wasn't perfect, he really did try to do everything he could to protect them all. What I did have a problem with was how easy it was to find info by the bad guys. I mean, Ben asked a rookie cop to find him an important phone number. The mole later used that cop to find the location of the cabin. How careless was that? They knew there was a mole inside. Ben should've never have given that task to that cop. No wonder they always knew where the family was...they were crap keeping things under wraps. Anyway I did like the romance. It wasn't... more overwhelming and complemented everything well without overshadowing the main story. Nice HEA.
review 2: This was another freebie ebook and I really enjoyed it. I did figure out who the mole was pretty quick but that didn't make the story any less enjoyable! In the book, Stephanie is camping with her children and they stumble upon quite the crime scene. In an effort to keep her safe while also using her to get information, John must whisk her away to a safe house. Here the thriller part of the book begins to take a back seat to romance and I did begin to lose interest but the author made sure to keep bringing the bad guys into the story and that kept me from putting the book down. If you like romance novels- the romance in this probably didn't start soon enough to keep you reading. If you're like me and prefer crime/suspense/thriller type books, the book will pull you in quickly and I think you will enjoy the book. If you like a mix of romance and suspense, this just might be the perfect book for you. less
