review 1: I love Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights, so this novel appealed to me as a "what if" type of story. I really liked the historical facts that the author wove throughout, and I really appreciated the bibliography and notes she included. I'm not a huge fan of the modern first person narrative or teen romance, so those aspects of the novel sort of detracted from the story for me. Overall, it was a pretty good book that moved quickly and wasn't predictable.
review 2: I'm often left wondering if I've read the same book as other reviewers who gush about what often turns out to be a disaster in need of a real editor.Not so here. The alopecia was a bit random but the time travel and ensuing adventure seemed to flow logically from it.
