review 1: I love Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights, so this novel appealed to me as a "what if" type of story. I really liked the historical facts that the author wove throughout, and I really appreciated the bibliography and notes she included. I'm not a huge fan of the modern first person narrative or teen romance, so those aspects of the novel sort of detracted from the story for me. Overall, it was a pretty good book that moved quickly and wasn't predictable.
