review 1: One major complaint about the end of this series, hence the spoiler cover (which is hopefully working--can't tell on mobile, so my apologies if not...):AMNESIA? REALLY?!At least it wasn't total amnesia--back to a young age? Fiiiiiine... Awkward enough that you're a little kid in an adult body, but amnesia, too?Really, though. So clichè (cliché?).Otherwise I enjoyed the ending very much. I didn't get a rushed feeling like I have from other series. The ending bonding with Kiyomi and Hiromi was nice (but wouldn't have happened if not forrrrrr...(Am. Ne. Sia!).The wedding was perfect for them--right down to Ryo rushing off for work. :)
review 2: For the last entry in this series, I was a little disappointed:- The big revelation about Juta being the manga artist w
... moreas totally wasted. Juta did his big reveal, and then there was absolutely no reaction from Asuka. Also, it was spoiled by being immediately followed by another reveal that wasn't as interesting (and, I think, had already happened once) and which also didn't get much reaction. Juta's big reveal, which I'd been looking forward to since the beginning of the series (Asuka finding out that his best friend is the author/artist of his favorite manga and has been basing it on him), ended up being a complete non-thing. It just passed with no reaction. Totally unsatisfying.- I thought pulling the amnesia card this close to the end was odd, but I did like the reveal about Asuka's dad and his reconciliation with Asuka's mom. I was disappointed, though, because I was hoping that they would get back together and rebuild their marriage. Asuka's dad made a fine man just as he'd been, so seeing that undone at the last moment--and seeing his marriage continue to just be abandoned even though he still seems to care about Asuka's mom--was a real disappointment to me.- Other than the thing with Asuka's parents, I did like the look at how everyone's doing in the future. Although I find it hard to believe that they'd wait 10 years to get married after getting engaged. less
