review 1: A great read. A wonderful first book for this author. You can't help but fall for sexy Jon, who undernearth that tough womanizing shell is a sweet caring guy.....he just doesn't believe it. It takes meeting Ivy on the Roof and looking into her eyes to get him to start believing. Ivy has her secrets and wounds too. It takes both of them believing in each other to free them from the past so that they can believe in a future together. The book deals with some hard painful issues that have made these 2 who they are but allows the reader to see them grow and move beyond the pain.An intense but wonderful fun read.Koodles to Jon and Ivy.
review 2: "...I don't believe in fate. If I did, I wouldn't be here.. Fate, if you can call it that, is what we make ourselves th
... morerough our own actions". - IvyIvy has had a rough life. She feels that fate isn't really all it's made out to be; it's just a notion that people emphasize on for hope of a better outcome in life or a situation. For Ivy, fate is not her friend. You see, she had an abusive boyfriend and she ended up killing him, or did she? Maybe she did, maybe she didn't. That's kind of the problem here...she can't freakin' remember. All she remembers is the awful experiences leading up to a black period in her life then waking up after being in a coma for nine (9) days. Now, she is struggling to escape the hate that is thrown at her after the town's beloved is dead. All she wants to do is start over, live her life in peace and quiet. For Jon, he is living life on autopilot. To him, "Fate isn't set in stone. We can change our future no matter how impossible we think it might be right now". Jon had a rough childhood, always living life to survive and never really being able to breathe...Together, they are complete opposites, but then again opposites do attract... Ivy is a quiet girl and Jon loves being the center of attention, especially all the female's attention. This was a great read. I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the author and I was thoroughly pleased with the results. Great job Beth Hyland and thank you for this opportunity, I look forward to reading more of your work in the future! less
