review 1: Zoe is your average ordinary ready for everything kid. She loves twirling in a fancy dress, doing cart wheels or digging in the dirt. Whatever comes up Zoe wants to be ready for it so, she has the same dilemma every girl has, what to wear. Zoe finally comes up with the perfect solution. This book is fun and fanciful. The illustrations are colorful and defiantly bring the story to life and give it character. First and second grade kids will relate to Zoe and read this book over and over again.

Since thinking of stories can be so difficult for young writers, Zoe's challenge with deciding what to wear could really be inspiring to many students--such a simple, but common, problem that children can relate to! I highly recommend Zoe Gets Ready as a mentor text for teaching focus and plot development to writers. less
