review 1: 3 exactly 3 stars. I liked this but it is a true middle of the road read for me. I bought the bundle, so I will keep reading the other stories but don't know how memorable this will be for me. Eoin and his bother are likeable enough. Bri is too. The conflict is good, but it seems it could have been built up a bit more. It didn't really get me hanging on the story. I easily put this book down and went to bed on time, but it didn't bore me to sleep either.
review 2: Bookbub suggested this, it was free and the description sounded interesting, I thought I'd give it a try. Don't buy this. There is no development, no accuracy. Yes I know, time travel isn't realistic, but if you're going to write about time travel, make an effort. The characters were barely one dim
... moreensional, there was no development of anything, let alone what the characters looked like. I love Scotland and historical novels, but honestly you couldn't really tell where or when this was aside from them riding horses around, the women in dresses and the dates from going back and forth. The whole archaeological dig grant that apparently didn't allow the mother to bring a legitimate team to the site was the first thing that bothered me, and it just got worse from there. I finished it, only because I keep track of how many books I read per month and I didn't care about story quality, until now. less
