review 1: I know some reviews make the book look extremely bad, but let me tell you something. this book is the best book I've read in a long time. if you're one of those people thinking about getting this book, I highly suggest you do. the book starts off with Fiona Tarsis waking up from a coma (like rick in the walking dead) to find that nothing is the same as her old life. she knows that the tattoo on her arm is something she must hide, but she doesn't know why. she decides to put some makeup on the tattoo to cover it up, and leaves her house to find her missing family. as soon as she leaves, men called "raiders" chase her. confused, she meets a kid named Arrin who claims she saved her life twice so Fiona must repay the debt by being a distraction for Arrin. Arrin also tells Fion... morea to act and look like a boy at all costs, because raiders want women. Arrin cuts Fiona's hair then sends her out to be a distraction. Fiona is caught and is assigned Bowen to watch her and protect everyone from her. Bowen is a childhood friend, and he begins to fall in love with her because he finds out who she is. Then Bowen makes a big decision. I won't go any farther, but is like to say I couldn't put it down! it's absolutely amazing the way the book is put together. The romance, action, drama, and overall plot I fascinating. I loved the second book, Cured, as well. I desperately hope Wiggins makes a third book! I hope you read this book, you won't regret it!
review 2: I really liked this book. It did a good job of setting up the setting for the next books, while conveying a good story, too. In this book, Fiona Tarsis wakes up one day in an alien world. Her house is abandoned and broken, her neighborhood is dead, and everyone is gone. Also, she has a strange tattoo on her hand, that she doesn't remember getting. Watch as she uncovers memories from her past, and secrets from the present. I would recommend this book for middle schoolers who like action/dystopia stories. less

A pretty freaking sweet story line. A tad gruesome at times, but an all around great read!
