review 1: This is the story of Ian, the 800-year old vampire enforcer that is portrayed as quite and somehow sinister in the first books, and Jenna the no-nonsense doctor that is the friends of the earlier ladies. Ian in this story turned into a sappy love struck vampire that is quite different from what I've known from the earlier books. Anyway, this is just a love story like the other books from these series, and also have a good ending.
review 2: For a short story, this one hit all the right spots with me. Ian was a charmer and sweet, and Jena was straight up with no annoyances or hang ups to disappoint me in a female lead. The pacing was well done, and there weren't any rushed explanations of vampirism or true mates - it was all simply understood from the prior books... more in the series. That alone - the trust in the reader's intelligence not to have to repeat plot devices - raised this book up a notch for me. A good read. less
