review 1: Allie Taylor's husband is presumed dead, even though they haven't found a body. Allie's husband was a very controlling man. He went into the woods to hunt and they found evidence that he was attacked by a bear and presumed dead. It has been eight months and Allie is trying to move forward with her five year old daughter. She goes back to her job as wedding planner since she was hired by the Cardwell ranch to do Tag and Lily's wedding. While working there she meets Jackson Cardwell. He is a single father of a five year old boy who has been burned badly by his ex wife. They both don't want relationship but he is drawn to her and wants to protect her. review 2: Most people love weddings and this one at Cardwell will be one that everyone will remember for a very long time. Weddings brings family together this one being no exception. Jackson comes to his brother's wedding with his son in tow because he is the kind of father that takes care of his son with great devotion. He comes upon Allie when she is spooked and soon finds out she is the wedding planner who also has a little girl who is adorable too. But things do not seem to going without the hitch in planning for Allie. Also on the homefront if she did not know better she would say her dead husband has come back to further torment her with all the crazy things that appear or disappear. Seeing things as a newcomer on the scene Jackson smells something afoot realizing someone is "gaslighting" Allie. This is a term not used often which is novel for me because more and more you read terms and things are often recycled by authors which in itself make for skimming in the reading instead of actually reading it. Drama and intrigue are afoot so a hunting I do go with Jackson and Allie to figure out and uncover the culprit. Family members worry though that he might be getting mixed up with more than he should once they uncover a little more on Allie even though she is a sweetheart for sure. He did not go unscathed from his former marriage without some scares of his own. Friends seem to be friends, family seems to be supportive but since the ex's family are something else altogether it makes for hard vision for Allie to trust at all. Ulterior motives are slowly uncovered with snakes coming out from under the rocks. With Jackson by her side things start slowly coming out into the light but things will come to head quickly with the my man Jackson being the man with the heart of gold coming to the rescue time and time again -the wedding will be the tip on the iceberg will hopefully be the last time.Of course through it all they do build a relationship for feelings grow for each other that are bigger than either expected to happen. Surprise, surprise who really is the big bad wolf in all of this but two of the sidekicks not quite so innocent either. My,my the family we can sometimes marry into but in this case will she be able to escape now they are no longer hiding behind a dead man with concern. Love how she brings it all together at the end once the wolf is brought down and hero with the heart of gold wins the prize. less
