review 1: I think what I like most about Brad Boney's books is that they're a little more complex than the typical m/m wish fulfillment fantasy. Sure, there's the boy meets boy, boy falls in love with boy (boy has hot, hot sex with boy) but has to overcome internal/external forces before getting a deserved happy ending. His 3 outputs so far have had underlying themes. TNoB was about the balance of family and career. The Return was about second chances and other lives. Eskimo Slugger is about the interconnected weave of lives and the ripple effects of actions throughout time. It gets a little new agey, but hey, it's fiction, and it's nice to temporarily live in this little world he's created where there are no coincidences and tragedies are merely speed bumps in the tapestry of life.... more And he gets to give a HAE even when you know what's coming at the end (if you've read the previous books).
review 2: Where to start???This book needed an explicit sex warning and not because it was about gay men,but straight or gay the sexual terms in this book, was to me just gross.I know that some people would not mind reading this kind of thing, but there was no warning of this content at all.I do so appreciate it when authors give a warning that the sexual content of their books may offend some people and maybe an underage reader should not read the book.Because of this I will never read a book by this author and feel it unfair of him to not warn of the nature of his explicit writing. less

The ending was a surprise because it seemed to occur so abruptly.
