The Godling Chronicles
review 1: This was ok. As far as it goes I thought the story was well written. However at this point the godling of the title is not terribly impressive or godly. My main gripe with this book is that the ending is a cliffhanger designed to make you get the next book. It leaves you with a feeling of frustration and that little has actually been achived in this installment of the series. I'm currently reading book 2 and feeling that we are still moving forward very slowly.
review 2: Disappointed after reading this book, I thought the author had quite a few really good ideas along the way, the elfen betrothal concept as an example. However, I was seriously tempted to stop reading several times along the way because of the very poor writing. This book is a great of exampl
... moree of how some writers "tell" us and don't "show" us. It left the story very flat and separates the reader from the story. The dialogue also was very clunky and at times very unbeleivable. Several times I found my self thinking "Nobody would react that way if they found themselves in the same situation." I hope that the following books improved, all of these things could be corrected with good editing feedback, unfortunately I don't think I can force myself to try the rest of the series. less
